Graduating Kidlets

We've had a hectic few days, but were thrilled to be sharing some nice times...   We were invited to Rose's graduation at Truro Cathedral...  The ceremony wasn't kicking in until 11am.  But it was suggested we got there early to ensure a seat... (This was taken at 9.30am)! It was certainly a grand setting & each graduate got a chance to be in the limelight, as they were called up one by one... And handed their scroll... Our lovely proud & happy girl... With her Foundation Degree in Graphic Design & Communication. The same girl who just a few years ago was painfully shy & would wear her hair over her face to hide... Finding the confidence to go to college was not easy for Rose, but she did it & wanted to do it.  Fortunately, she had a great tutor & lecturers who encouraged her to use her wild & wonderful ideas for projects...  Since then - she has blossomed! The only girl there wearing baseball shoes... Afraid she takes after her scruffy pa

Roller Coaster

The last week seems to have been crazy, several owners of properties we care for have decided to sell or rent out long term, it's like all of a sudden everyone's starting to panic about their finances - we've lost 4 big earning jobs - just like that... We've been through a blip & have worried whether we would have to leave this house sooner than we'd expected, as we were convinced that we would no longer be able to afford the rent... Then something great happened - a new job came along & then another one & suddenly we've realised that we're going to be busy again, especially around Christmas, so the heat is off. We had a good chat with our landlord, his Wife & Son - they don't want us to leave & for some reason, they think we are wonderful (we think they are too)! So now one of our dreams is about to come true - they've given us the go ahead to start doing B&B - yippee! We hope to be starting in the spring & are now ful

Time For Bed

We're too tired to write... Night, night. Kay & Sime xx

Shell Island

Shell Island   Mid-week In October is just wonderful for being on such a beautiful beach! Hugo Poor dead crab... We had it to ourselves... Jellyfish... Hugo on the sand dune... A very tall, thin person... Harlech Castle is in the distance... And the mountains of Snowdonia... A stunning place to be... Just fantastic! Thought I would share this video with you too. I think it's really funny...  Firstly, Sime is talking to himself (he's losing it, I swear), then he has some sought of absence - just staring upwards for a few too many seconds, it's hilarious & he's such a weirdo! Secondly, Hugo's doing what the kids have always done on sand dunes... But he's getting too long & gangly for it now, so watch what happens... Bye for now.  From the most sensible member of the family, Kay :)

Harlech Castle

Another castle tour... Every holiday, a cat finds us - even in a castle! Afterwards, we walked into the town & found  Cemlyn Tea Room . The teas were wonderful & they had a huge list of them... Hugo had Jasmine, Sime had Sencha & Ginseng & I had Gunpowder... We also had the best meal of the holiday...  Aduki Bean & Vegetable Stew & it was absolutely delicious! K&S xx
